Yes the recession did affect us, some harder than others. Losing a job sucks big time. It might have affected our budget, relationships, careers, opportunities, schooling But we should not let these setbacks and obstacles affect the way we think and how we will rebound to be more successful again. Understandably, having these setbacks can take a toll on us but we have to be more resilient and resourceful. We need to realize that we have intangible qualities that helps us to succeed and overcome any adversity. Yes we can: 1) lose our career, 2) lose our relationships 3) have a pretty messed up credit rating. Should we just give up? No way! We can always: 1) find another career 2) build new relationships or fix and develop stronger ones 3) Slowly rebuild our credit with diligent budgeting When I H.A.D. a job, I thought I H.A.D. everything. Now that I don't H.A.V.E. a job...I H.A.V.E. lost everything. Not true, not true at all. We all still H.A.V.E. the intangible qualities that gives us our uniqueness. Do not live in the past. What has happened…happened. Let it go and move forward. It is so easy for us to feel comfortable in dwelling in our past pains and procrastinate about our current situation. It is convenient for us to make excuses not to do the necessary things in order for us to bounce back from setbacks. Wake up! Re-ignite these qualities that we have inside of us and do something amazing with them. Take a chance. Seriously, what is the worst thing that can happen after falling so far down and hard? Dust off your shoulders and keep on rolling along. Do not give up so easily. “Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence.
