Instead,
Find a quiet spot to sit down and relax.
Give yourself just only 3 minutes of "your" time to relax your mind.
Let your mind roam free or focus....up to you

Now listen to the sounds of nature and imagine yourself sitting in front of a sparkling beach or walking along in the pristine rainforest.

We are always so caught up with the urban lifestyle and at times are too tired, too forgetful, or just too busy to give ourselves some relaxation time.

Here are two great links below that can help you relax while at home, at work or commuting to work.

Enjoy your weekend everyone and find some time to relax.

How will you fine tune your listening skills in order to get the most out of your daily interactions with people and your environments?

What are you listening to all the time?
What are you not listening enough of?

Can you find time to listen?
Will you find time to listen?

Dear Vinny, would you suggest any inspirational quotes or tips about strengthening willpower? Thanks!

Will Power Definition *looked this up on google*:

Will power is the inner strength to make decisions, take action and handle and execute any aim or task, regardless of inner resistance, discomfort or difficulty. It is inner firmness, decisiveness, determination, resolution, persistence and the power of pushing towards any goal.

Charlie!

How are you my friend?

That is a great question and of course would require a lengthy answer, but I will try my best to give you “one” of many perspectives in strengthening willpower.

I believe you can either lose willpower gradually or gain willpower but there are no in-between stages for willpower.

Diminishing Willpower:

If you are just content on cruising along life with not a lot of struggles or ambitious aspirations, then eventually your willpower will diminish over time.  I am not saying that you do not “have” willpower.  But you do lose willpower slowly over time without purpose and focus, which are fuels to generate more willpower.

Scenario 1: A person can be broke and hungry with no goals and still chooses not to improve themselves.  They think the world owes them.  They think there is no hope left and have pretty much given up without much of a fight.

Scenario 2: A person has steady a job and does not face many obstacles or hardships in life.  This person is on cruise control.  They do not like to change gears in life much.

Scenario 3:  A person who used to have drive and ambition now has it all.

They:

a)      are content with their current lifestyle

b)      refuse to look at other areas of their life to improve

c)      have not been shown alternative possibilities to better themselves

Gaining Willpower:

People who continually gain willpower and have the most of it, are the ones that have had struggles but still choose to be ambitious with faith.

Yes they have been prisoners of war

Yes they are broke and hungry

Yes they are successful and wealthy

Yes they have a loving family with supportive friends

All these people are from both spectrum; struggle and success.  However, they never ever gave up the “choice”: to survive, to have hope, to strive for growth and success.

They are grateful and appreciative for each moment of time and life that is given to them.  Moreover, they actively find ways to develop and grow other aspects of their life.

So Charlie, whether the person is in the position of struggle or success in life…at the end of the day they can look themselves in the mirror and say

“Yes I have tried and fought my hardest today to grow as a person and strive to help others who choose to improve themselves.”

"Lose not yourself in a far off time, seize the moment that is thine."
---Friedrich Schiller---

"Much may be done in those little shreds and patches of time which every day produces, and which most men throw away."
---Charles Caleb Colton---

"Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential."
---Winston Churchill---

Enthusiasm is the mother of effort, and without it nothing great was ever achieved.

---Ralph Waldo Emerson---

"Some people mistake being loving for being a sap. Quite the contrary, the most loving people are often the most fierce and the most acutely armed for battle... for they care about preserving and protecting poetry, symphonic song, ideas, the elements, creatures, inventions, hopes and dreams, dances and holiness... those goodly endeavors that cannot be allowed to perish from this earth, else humanity itself would perish..."

- from" The Dangerous Old Woman"

This quote is from the movie "Seven Years in Tibet"
Starting from 4min 30sec to 5min 33sec in this clip

The young Dalai Lama asks:

"What do you love about mountain climbing?"

Heinrich Harrer replies:

"The absolute simplicity, that's what I love.  When you are climbing, your mind is clear, free from all confusion, you have focus, and suddenly the light becomes sharper and the sounds richer and you are filled with the deep powerful presence of life."

So ask yourself:
What activity gives me the most joyous pleasure in life?
Is it when I hold my newborn for the first time?
Is it during my favorite athletic activity?
Is it when I admire a beautiful sunset?

Only you have that answer my friends.

Hi everyone how are you?

I will try my best to be as active on here as possible while we are expecting our 2nd bundle of joy.

Take care everyone!

This speech is about real estate sales but it does have a broader context.

Success takes hard work, discipline, planning etc

Just because someone tells you:
- "NO" you cannot do that
-There is no way you can achieve that
-What are you thinking?
-Do you know how hard that will be?

If you accepted their advice to give up, then you did not "Close" hard enough.
They sold you the belief that you cannot make it.

Remember your ABCs

Convince yourself first before trying to convince others.

Mmmmmm Hot calming delicious tea
I was never an avid tea drinker until I stumbled upon a very fresh and trendy looking tea store called "DavidsTea"

The girl who worked there was very knowledgeable and helpful with all my tea questions.

I tried some of their tea testers and thought it was quite refreshing and calming at the same time.

They gave a Tea list brochure and explained in detail the benefits of each type of tea.

I am now having a cup of tea with:
a blend of lavender, rooibos, coconut and cornflowers.

Oh so good!
